Firstly, we need to make sure that you are sending a palletised order.
For a pallet order of less than 99kg the price (at the time of writing) starts from just £48.29 + VAT via DX Freight. When you get a quote if your item is heavy, you will get a pop-up message to confirm the goods you are sending will be on a pallet.
Obviously, at smaller weights you might be better served looking at the more conventional options - but that will become apparent when you see the list of services available for the dimensions of your order.
As long as your boxes or other items fit safely on a pallet then they are likely to be acceptable. Furthermore, we would expect that they are not loaded any higher than 1.2m above the pallet and secured safely to the pallet. If the pallet is deemed not to be carefully arranged DX Freight may refuse to take the pallet or insist it is repacked.
You can send items such as car parts using a pallet delivery service, so items of all shape and size are booked in. Be sure to measure your goods accurately to ensure the courier can accept the goods, we will only show a price if your dimensions are suitable.
Use simple and quick Parcel Monkey quote engine, enter your shipment weight and dimensions. You will then be given the option to select DX Next Day to courier your pallet. Select the "Book Now" button to confirm that your order is palletised. The rest of the booking the process is the same as if you were arranging the delivery of a regular-sized parcel.
To have a pallet booked for collection the next day we need you to complete your booking by 4 pm the day before - this allows for resources to be correctly allocated to collect your heavy load.
Pallets are shipped outside of the conventional courier process, as such the automated tracking, which you can access online, is not available here.
What does happen is that after your booking you are given an order number, and a telephone number directly into the system so you can call for updates
That's perfectly fine. The prices we give are based on weight, so if you have one item that you would like transported on a pallet, but it does not take up the full size of the base then that's fine.
If you just have the one, very heavy, an item that you would like delivering then we can typically accommodate you at a cheaper rate than a palletised order. All you need to do is use the quote form as usual, and we will locate the best prices within your system according to your particular dimensions.
For instance, a 30kg box measuring 50cm cubed would cost from just £9.95 + VAT with Parcelforce 48 to destinations around the UK. You could also opt for a quicker Parcelforce 24 service or this DX service as well. Anything over 30kg would need to be sent via DX Freight or City Sprint.
We offer a Same Day courier service with City Sprint who can cater for large and heavy items.
We give you the option to book a man and a van and you can pick the size of a vehicle that is required for your item. Now if your pallet is made up of a variety of boxes or items that can be lifted onto a van, then we can often accommodate you by sending a van to drive your items to their destination.
You can select a particular time slot too and it is perfect for time-sensitive goods that need to be delivered the very same day as they are collected.
If we can take the items off the pallet, then we can often accommodate you on the same day courier service. Here your items can be arranged to be collected at the time of your choice and delivered the same day. You can find out more about weekend delivery using the Parcel Monkey Local service, again provided by City Sprint.
Not yet. We do offer bulk services to Europe via Road and Air Express that aren't palletised under the Parcel Monkey brand. We also offer DHL for heavy items going overseas.
For example, a 99kg parcel to Italy would cost £182.71 + VAT on a two to three-day basis via DHL Road Express.
If that were a 40kg package to Paris, France, then the cost would start at £49.58 + VAT for our own Parcel Monkey Europe by Road service on a three to four-day basis.
For DHL this would cost £58.72 + VAT by Road or £134.90 + VAT by Air Express.
Going further abroad, to the other side of the world, a 50kg parcel to Australia would cost £233.32 via our Parcel Monkey Air Express
